Owner of Avalon Fine Jewelery, Terry Paunkoff, expressed cautious relief after hearing that Halton police apprehended two suspects on Wednesday, June 14, stating, “I’m really anxious to hear it was them.” Avalon was robbed early Saturday morning on June 10 at approximately 2:45 am The thieves gained access by smashing the front door’s large glass panel. Once on the premises, they punched in two jewelery cases. Paunkoff estimates conservatively that they made off with $20,000 worth of jewelery at retail. The value of stolen goods was relatively low, according to Paunkoff, because high-value items were securely stored in their safe.…
